Civil Services Examination

The civil service exam is conducted by the UPSC nationwide for the various civil service posts of central government. Civil Service exam is the very popular exam. There is craze of civil service exam among the candidates. Civil Service exam is the toughest exam of India and 2nd toughest exam in the world after French civil service exam.  Civil Service exam is conducted for the following posts:

Engineering Services Examination

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service exam. This exam is organized at national level for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer in central government.  It meets the technical and managerial functions of the government of India. IES is the very hot career opportunities for the technical student in India. Large number of candidates takes this exam, competing limited posts.
This exam is conducted only in 4 technical streams:

Civil Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering


Combined Defence Services Examination

CDS exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of candidates in defence Service. Union Public Service Commission conducts the CDS exam nationwide and twice in a year. UPSC publishes the notification for the CDS exam in every six month and usually in the month of June and October. This is a graduate level entry exam for the candidates to go in defence academy. After clearing the written exam and SSB (Service Selection Board) interview candidates are admitted in respective academy.


National Defence Academy Examination and Naval Academy Examination

NDA exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment in the defence service at the post of Lieutenant. This exam is conducted twice in a year at national level. Candidates passed intermediate can apply for the NDA exam. It is the Joint Services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force train together before they go on to pre-commissioning training in their respective service academies.NDA consists of written exam and SSB interview. NDA is situated  in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra.


Combined Medical Services Examination

CMS exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of various posts of medical officer in central government. These posts may be in Indian ordnance factory and railway under central government. Only MBBS qualified candidates can apply for the CMS exam. The notification for the examination is usually released in the month of September and examination is held in the month of January.


Special Class Railway Apprentice

SCRA exam is conducted for the recruitment in mechanical department of Indian railway held by the Union Public Service Commission. It is an under graduate level exam and candidates must have physics and chemistry as compulsory subject in intermediate. This exam is conducted once in a year and nationwide.


Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination

IES/ISS exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission for the Officer level post under central government. IES/ISS is the toughest exam and huge number of candidates takes this exam.  The exam is conducted once in a year at national level.


Geologists' Examination

This exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment in Geological survey of India, ministry of mines as officer posts. This is a grade A posts. The exam is conducted nationwide once in a year.


Central Armed Police Forces(AC)

CAPF exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspectors in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub-Inspectors in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
